KU PRIDE

Meet Carol Sztaba, university architect,
has been with KU for more than nine years and is responsible for the development and revisions for campus facilities master planning. A native of Michigan, she moved to Pennsylvania in 1984 and lives in Spring Township, Berks County. Carol said one of the benefits of working at KU is the opportunity to take photos of the beautiful campus throughout the year, including the wonderful picture of the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center shown here. She also has a little known talent: Carol is an avid banjo picker.  “Some people would consider playing the banjo a unique hobby. Others would deny that anyone can play a banjo,” she said with smile.

Kutztown University Radio (KUR) has a slightly freshened sound on our popular daytime/filler format “Café KUR.” Taking assessment seriously as we always do, we’ve learned during the past year that you’d like to hear more “soul” mixed in with the jazz. So, as of this past Monday, “Café KUR” now features "Jazz, with a little bit of soul!” The jazz now has an on-air sister, a genre borrowing many roots from jazz, that being “soul.” Tune in today and support your campus radio station! “The Radio Voice of Kutztown University, KUR!” Tune in or discover all the different ways to tune in at http://kur.kutztown.edu/. (Student specialty shows get going again in just a few short weeks!) Stay tuned!

Attention Faculty:  It’s not too late to add your textbook to the rental list for spring semester.  If your textbook is in a newer edition and you plan to use it for at least three or more semesters, please contact Jackie Downing at x6-4194 or by e-mail jdowning@kutztown.edu at the KU Student Bookstore. She will explain to you how you may be able to help save the students up to 60% off the price of their textbooks beginning this spring. Whether or not you sent in your textbook adoption, Jackie will work with you to make it happen. Let’s work together to make textbooks more affordable for students.
