Bruce Jensen, librarian, Rohrbach Library Construction update: As part of this summer’s North Campus electrical loop/feeder rebalancing and substation capacitor/breaker digitization required in preparation for the Schaeffer Auditorium Renovation and Addition Project to start January 2012, we must shutdown the North Campus electrical feeders on Saturday, Jul. 16, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Power will be returned to all campus facilities after 4 p.m. The affected buildings are as follows: Academic Forum, Beekey, Boehm, deFrancesco, Grad Center, Grim , Heritage Center, Kemp, Lytle, McFarland Student Union Building, Old Main, President’s House, R&L, Risley, Rohrbach, Schaeffer, Sharadin. On Friday please check out "Remix Radio with B. Lee" at 1 p.m., "Monsoon Mike's Jukebox of Cheese" at 2 p.m., "Anything Goes" with Lise Avery at 4 p.m., "Fifty One Percent" (women's issues talk) at 5 p.m., "This Way Out" (gay/lesbian issues talk) at 5:30 and "The Drumstick" with Dillon Snyder at 6. Michael Regensburger, KUR Radio Donations are being accepted for a Diaper & Wipe Drive for the widow of Berks County Deputy Sheriff Kyle Pagerly, who was recently killed in the line of duty. Kyle’s widow recently found out she was expecting their first child next year. Please open your hearts for a deserving member of our extended Berks County community. We will be accepting unopened cases and packs of baby diapers (all sizes) and wipes for Kyle’s unborn child. You can drop off your donation in either Student Union & Involvement Services (MSU 153) or the Career Development Office (Stratton 113). The drive will go until Friday, Jul. 22. Donations will then be dropped off at the Sheriff’s office in Reading, PA for delivery to Mrs. Pagerly. Please consider making a donation to this important cause. Please share this with your summer students - Student Union & Involvement Services and SGB are sponsoring Fiesta Ole on Wednesday, Jul. 13 from 12 - 1:30 p.m. on the MSU Lawn. There will be a Mexican-themed picnic along with lawn games, giveaways, and music. Please remind your students to bring their KU ID. This event is paid for out of student activity fees and is therefore only open to current KU Students.
