The Daily Brief

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fire pumps to be tested on Friday - The fire pumps in Old Main, Bonner, Deatrick and Dixon will be flow tested on Friday, Jul. 29. These annual flow tests assure proper function of the pumps required to boost water flow and pressure to the fire suppression systems in these buildings. During these tests, which usually last only a few minutes, you may see large volumes of water discharging outside the building and finding it’s way to the nearest storm water drains. Please exercise caution if you walk or drive in the vicinity of this water flow during these tests. Please direct any questions to firesafety@kutztown.edu.

KUR Radio
- On Wednesday, tune in at 2:30 p.m. for "The Diversity Rest Stop" interview program, this week sitting down with trumpet superstar Cindy Bradley. This will be a special, 30-minute version of our normally 15-minute feature interview. Playing a mainly male-dominated genre of music (jazz) not to mention a mainly male-dominated instrument (trumpet), Cindy has defied all odds and has released her third contemporary jazz album "Unscripted," an album that is currently soaring on the jazz charts. Much of the instrumental material that is inspiration for this album was from some trying times Cindy experienced in her personal life including the break-up of a relationship and both her grandmother and mother being diagnosed with cancer.

At 3 p.m., "Groovy" Greg Dottor takes control of the airwaves with "The Heart of Rock and Soul."

On Friday please check out "Remix Radio with B. Lee" at 1 p.m., "Monsoon Mike's Jukebox of Cheese" at 2 p.m., "Anything Goes" with Lise Avery at 4 p.m., "Fifty One Percent" (women's issues talk) at 5 p.m., "This Way Out" (gay/lesbian issues talk) at 5:30 p.m. and "The Drumstick" with Dillon Snyder at 6 p.m.

All this in addition to our special weekend programming which can be found by clicking on our "Schedule" link at http://www.kutztown.edu/divisions/studentservices/departments/radioservices/schedule/index.aspx

Representatives from Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection will be on campus
conducting routine annual inspection and testing of the fire sprinkler systems through Jul. 29. This inspection process should be minimally invasive, however will involve the inspectors accessing mechanical rooms and valve closets while performing visual inspections of exposed piping and sprinkler system components. Questions may be directed to the EHS office via phone at x6-4237 or email to firesafety@kutztown.edu .
