Destination Art: Cape Town (DVD 5187) A visit to Cape Town reveals artists who are working in post-Apartheid South Africa. Sculptor and painter, Willie Bester, reveals why he trawls the city’s junkyards for inspiration and materials and sound artist James Webb takes us on a tour of Cape Town. Also featured: Nandipha Mntambo, Mustafa Maluka.

Destination Art: Italy (DVD 5188) Travel to Italy to discover more about its burgeoning contemporary art scene. We meet rising star Patrick Tuttofuoco, who uses architecture as inspiration for his dynamic sculptures and we meet il Padre of contemporary Italian art, Michelangelo Pistoletto. Also featured: Roberta Silva, Maggie Cardelus.

Destination Art: Mumbai (DVD 5189) Mumbai is the fastest moving, most affluent and industrialized city in India. We take a look at its ever-changing landscape through the eyes of two very different artists, Hema Upadhyay and Sudhir Patwardhan. Also featured: Shilpa Gupta, Atul and Anju Dodiya.

Destination Art: Tokyo (DVD 5190) In the vibrant city of Tokyo where Asian and Western art styles meet, photographer Ishiuchi Miyako discusses her captivating work which explores the passage of time. We also meet one of Japan’s most established sculptures and painters, 77-year old Yayoi Kusama. Also featured: Atsushi Fukui, Makoto Fujimura.

ATHLETICS

Kutztown University's Keri Brown was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country College Division District II second team!


For Brown, the selection to the Capital One Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country College Division District II second team was the perfect finish to a magnificent career! Brown graduated on May 7 with a degree in Elementary Education. She was named to the Dean’s List for four years and was a two-time selection to the Association of Athletics Directors (ADA) All-Academic team.

Construction Update:
Concrete repair work is set to begin at the Lytle bus stop area between A-4 and A-5 lots on Monday, June 6. Fencing will be installed starting at 7 a.m. Please use caution while walking and driving in this area.

On Jun. 13, KU Athletics will host the 13th Annual Great Golden Bear Golf Scramble at Berkleigh Country Club. We still have openings in this year’s event and we are running the lowest registration prices since 2008! All proceeds benefit student athlete scholarships. KUR Radio - At 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, it's "The Diversity Rest Stop Radio Program," this week sitting down with Project Manager for the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area, Bob Falwell to discuss the Schuylkill River Trail, a hopefully soon-to-be-completed 160 mile walking and bike trail from Philadelphia to Pottsville. One of several unfinished links was just completed in the Hamburg area.

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, "Groovy" Greg Dottor takes control of the airwaves with "The Heart of Rock and Soul."

On Friday the 10, don't forget to check out "B. Lee's Top 40" on Friday at 1 p.m., "Monsoon Mike's Jukebox of Cheese" at 2 p.m. "Anything Goes" with Lise Avery at 4 p.m., "Fifty One Percent" (women's issues talk) at 5 p.m., "This Way Out" (gay/lesbian issues talk) at 5:30 p.m. and "The Drumstick" with Dillon Snyder at 6 p.m.

2011 Kutztown Folk Festival seeks volunteers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, July 2 to Sunday, July 10 to assist in several areas at the 2011 Festival. Assignments are available as greeters at the festival gates, survey takers to interview visitors and several other general tasks. Volunteers may sign up for 3-hour shifts throughout the week. Free passes as well as a Festival pin are our gift to you! This is our way of showing our appreciation to our volunteers. The MSU Movie Series will show the film Rango on Tuesday, Jun. 7 at 4 p.m. in the MSU 183, Alumni Auditorium, and at 7 p.m. in the Dixon Conference Room. Admission is free!
