ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Newtonian telescope, located on the 4th floor of the Boehm Science Center, is a type of reflecting telescope invented by the British scientist Sir Isaac Newton (1642–1727), using a concave primary mirror and a flat diagonal secondary mirror. Newton’s first reflecting telescope was completed in 1668 and is the earliest known functional reflecting telescope. The Newtonian telescope's simple design makes them very popular with amateur telescope makers. There are many more campus curiosities at KU. Read about them in your summer edition of Tower magazine or online at www.kutztown.edu/tower.

Service Request Schedule/Special Event Support
- In an effort to better serve our customers, the Facilities Office schedules events and deliveries in advance. Timely planning and notification by our customers will greatly increase our opportunity for success in this area. Because of the many varied interests and competing priorities, we must be able to better anticipate use of our limited resources. In the future, the Facilities Department may not be able to guarantee that we will service requests on short notice, since doing so may impact other customers' planned requests. Please submit your set-up requests and special event support needs at least two weeks in advance in order to assure that you will have the level of support that you need. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
