Congratulations to KU junior Heather Crawford, who has been awarded an Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Scholarship for the 2011-12 Academic Year.  This is the second year in a row Kutztown University has had an ASL Scholarship winner.

The $1,600 scholarship is awarded to eight students nationally at institutions sponsoring an ASL chapter. The students must be a sophomore or above and maintain a grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Winners are selected based on a combination of scholarship, leadership, their personal statement, faculty recommendation and financial need.

Crawford hails from Lancaster, Pa., and is majoring in psychology/clinical-counseling.

Alpha Sigma Lambda
is the National Honor Society for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning.  The organization’s aim is to recognize the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work.

Keep KUR as your summer soundtrack. In addition to plenty of great Cafe KUR, now with more soul and funk than ever mixed in with the jazz, plenty of great specialty programs happen every week.

On Wednesday, Jun. 29, tune in for KUR's exclusive sports/talk show "The Show," with Nick Petrillo from 11 a.m. to noon.
Then at 2:45 p.m., it's "The Diversity Rest Stop" interview program, this week sitting down with local actor, celebrity impersonator, musician, artist, chef, and much much more Stewart Brodian. Stewart has been a reoccurring guest on our "Diversity Rest Stop" as his new nationally-syndicated television show has been picking up television affiliates by leaps and bounds. At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, "Groovy" Greg Dottor takes control of the airwaves with "The Heart of Rock and Soul."
