CET will be sponsoring a discussion group from 11 - 11:50  a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 15, in AF102 titled The New General Education Model presented by Professor Randy Schaeffer. Confused by the "new" Gen Ed model? Welcome to the club! This workshop will briefly look at the history, motivation, and development of the new model and then quickly turn to a discussion of the four parts of the model. We will delve into how to help students (and advisors) navigate the intricacies of the new model. What counts where? When does a student have to take what? Can one course fulfill more than one requirement? What if a student changes his/her major? What's a "Competency Across the Curriculum" and how does one get approved? Where can I go for more information? All these questions and more will be addressed in this workshop. If you plan to attend the workshop, please respond to sreed@kutztown.edu.
