Must Love Dogs!  Evolution of the Human/Canine Bond, a free public educational seminar on Saturday, Apr. 2 from 1-4 p.m.  Speakers:  Dr. Michael Haas of AVH Veterinary Group and Susan Bulanda, author and animal behavior consultant. Dr. Lawrence M. Stratton Scholarship 2011-2012 applications are now available in the Financial Aid Office. Criteria:
    •Must earn 30 or more credits by the end of spring 2011;
    •Must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50
    •Must demonstrate participation and leadership in KU campus activities.
Applications must be returned to the Financial Aid Office no later than Apr. 15.

Please encourage eligible students to apply for the APSCUF-KU Scholarship. The top candidates will be selected for interviews. Of those interviewed, five will be awarded $500 scholarships and the remaining interviewees will receive $100 awards. The eligibility criteria are as follows.
     •Financial need.
    •A minimum 3.0 GPA.
    •Completion of at least 24 hours of course work, including at least 12 hours of course work at KU at time of application.
    •Returning to campus in Fall 2011 as a full-time student.
    •Previous recipients are ineligible.

Construction Update: Preliminary work in support of the Admin Data Center UPS Upgrade project is scheduled to begin the week of Mar. 21. A staging area for machinery and supplies will be confined to the grassy area directly behind the building. No changes to egress or parking will be required. Bearfest 33 Carnival Booth Registration FINAL on-site registration day:
Tuesday, Mar. 22, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Student organizations are invited to sponsor a booth at the Bearfest 33 carnival on Saturday, Apr. 16 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Many organizations have used this opportunity to highlight their community involvement, or to fund raise. Booths are $20 per organization. At last year’s Bearfest, more than 30 organizations hosted booths. Kutztown University and the Borough of Kutztown are pleased to announce an open application process
for a Student ambassador non-voting position within the Borough Council for the Borough of Kutztown as well as to the Mayor of Kutztown. This position is open to any full time Kutztown University student and will begin Sept. 1, for a one-year term. Interested students must submit the completed application no later than Apr. 29. The applications will be reviewed by representatives of KU and the Borough of Kutztown. Following a review, finalists will be determined and those applicants will be interviewed. The Race Against Racism committee is looking for donations and runners for our 5th annual Race Against Racism.
The race will be held on Apr. 9 at 9 a.m. This is a 5k run/1k walk, the 1k is considered a "fun walk" which is a great opportunity to get the kids involved. The committee is hoping to get at least 200 runners involved, as well as faculty sponsor support for runners. It is $15 for individual student runners and $25 for all other participants.
