The Secondary Education Department, in conjunction with Rohrbach Library, is sponsoring a movie night showing the critically acclaimed documentary “Race to Nowhere.” Secondary Education students are sponsoring a basket auction – all proceeds from the auction and movie will benefit Northwest Middle School in Reading and South Mountain Middle School in Allentown. Auction starts at 5:30 p.m., movie in MSU 183 at 6 p.m.

The Department of Speech Communication and Theatre renamed the Department of Communication Studies and Theatre - Effective immediately, the name of the Department of Speech Communication and Theatre is changed to the Department of Communication Studies and Theatre. Chamber Singers Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6, @ 7:30 p.m. in Georgian Room, OM - Chamber Singers, a select group of KU singers, will present a Winter Concert of advanced choral repertoire. This concert will include a performance of Whitacre's 5 Hebrew Love Songs (with violin solo) and also some familiar holiday songs. Please come support your own KU singers!

Women’s Center Accepting HEART Applications - The HEART at KU training will begin on Jan. 24, 2012. If you are interested in completing this 60-hour domestic and sexual violence education seminar, come to the Women’s Center, OM 126, to pick up an application. Applications may also be downloaded from the Women’s Center website. Please bring completed applications to the Women’s Center before Dec. 16, 2011. All sessions will be held at Kutztown University on Tuesdays and some Saturdays, through March when classes are in session. ·  The PASSHE Academy is a new initiative designed to expand personal and professional development and wellness opportunities for all PASSHE employees. The Academy makes some employee development programs offered at one university available to employees at all PASSHE universities. Courses are available now and will be updated on an on-going basis.  (If training is scheduled during your workday, please be sure to get supervisory approval in advance of registering. New Enterprise Rent-A-Car Employee Personal Use Contract Number – A Kutztown University employee can rent an Enterprise rental car at the University discounted rate provided payment is made with personal funds. Effective Dec. 1,  employees renting a vehicle from Enterprise for personal use must give the new contract number XZ57179 to utilize the pricing discount. Personal rentals cannot be made through the Kutztown University website. An employee must contact Enterprise directly and identify themselves as a Kutztown University employee renting a vehicle for personal use. AFSCME Local 2234: This is a notice to all AFSCME employees who lost seniority due to parental leave taken prior to July 1993. Please send notice to the Human Resources office, through their work order system, stating that you are requesting your lost time back. This Request must be made before the end of the year. A form to reclaim this time was to have been distributed by the end of this year, but it has not been made available yet.

Keep KUR as your pre-holiday soundtrack - On Tuesday, it's our Tuesday block of community access talk programming kicking off at 2 p.m. with a very special FINAL "Kutztown Live" of the semester where this week, host Mike R. turns hosting duties over to KUR alum Kyle "The Green Machine" Greenwood who will be interviewing local jazz artist and KU alum Nick Ruffini to discuss Nick's new solo album "Pressin' On." Then stay tuned at 3 p.m. for the semester's final "The Dan Donahue Show," "The KU Car Show" at 4 p.m., "Notas Latinas" at 5 p.m.
