Conference Services Staff Team for the summer of 2012. This is an opportunity to

TOMS shoe: Style Your Soul Event
- Order a pair of TOMS shoes. You get
a pair and a child in a third-world country gets a pair. Come to the Community
Outreach Center MSU 281 to fill out order forms and pay. Due by Nov. 22. If
ordering anything other than classic whites, please go online and find the style
number and price of your shoe.
Dec. 12 from 5-9 p.m. in MSU MPR a Style Your Soul Event will be held to
decorate plan preordered shoes. There will be screenings of the documentary,
live music, food, and some things to paint at the event. Come join us making the

Put your creative talents to work – design a basket of holiday
treasures for the holiday season. The proceeds raised from ticket sales for
basket chances will be used to support KUBoK (Kutztown University and Borough of
Kutztown) Neighborhood Watch, a volunteer coalition of community residents and
KU students, faculty and staff working and walking together to maintain a safe
and friendly community. The baskets will be displayed on-campus in the MSU on
Wednesday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 2. They will then be displayed off-campus at
Eckhaus on Sunday, Dec. 4 during Kutztown’s “Christmas on the Main.”
Anyone can participate - staff, faculty, departments, clubs and organizations.
Do it individually or as a group. Be as creative as you like and as
non-traditional as you want it to be! You can base it around a theme, a hobby,
sporting team, or anything that comes to mind. The deadline to submit baskets is
Nov. 28. Baskets should be gift-wrapped in cellophane and can be dropped off at
the Dean of Students office, MSU 262. Please give your basket a creative name
and identify who it is being sponsored by. Any questions, please contact Susan

Attention: The next University Curriculum Committee (UCC) meeting for
the 2011-2012 academic year will be held on Dec. 1. The deadline for
submission of all proposals for this meeting is 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, Nov.
17. Because of the upcoming holiday, no proposals will be accepted after this
date. Please submit new proposals prior to this deadline to the UCC secretary,
Bethany French, in the Provost’s Office, 309 Stratton Admin. If you have any

Faculty Shop Talk - Join your colleagues this Friday, Nov. 18,
for conversation, wine & cheese, and a chance to learn about the scholarly
activities of one of your colleagues at the third 2011-2012 Shop Talk. This
month's presentation, by Dr. Jonathan Shaw (English), is titled "Morning in
America: Metaphorics of Light in Stephen Wright's M31: A Family Romance". Dr.
Shaw's talk examines the themes underlying this dark and bizarre SF novel by
presenting comparisons to Spielberg's "Close Encounters ...." and the Reagan
administration. The talks are held in SUB 250. Attendees assemble at 4 p.m. for
wine and cheese and conversation, with the presentation commencing at 4:20 p.m.

As part of the ongoing campus wellness initiative, we are pleased to
offer programs that cover healthy eating, exercise and lifestyle habits
that may reduce the risk of chronic disease. The next program being offered is
“Maintain Don’t Gain”. Registration began Monday, November 14 and runs through
Friday, November 18, with a program start date of November 21. Information on

Kutztown University Dining Services and ARAMARK strive to provide
