
Willis M. Rapp, professor of Music and chair of the
Department of Music at Kutztown University was the recipient of the
2011 Distinguished Alumnus Award by the School of Music at West Chester
University. Yesterday's ceremony marked the 28th Music Honors Convocation,
celebrating 140 years of music at West Chester University. Presiding at
the ceremony were Dr. Timothy Blair, dean of the College of Visual & Performing
Arts; Dr. John Villella, associate dean; and The Honorable Carolyn Comitta,
mayor, Borough of West Chester, PA. Mayor Comitta and Professor Rapp were
classmates at WCU.

This children and young adult library honors the life of the late KU Alumna, Cheryl Okafor, and her dedication to children and education. Checks made out to Berks Women in Crisis are tax deductible, and can be sent to the Women’s Center, OM 126. All proceeds will be used to purchase books and library furnishings.
