Pick an ornament off the tree, purchase the item on the back of the ornament and bring it back to the red box next to the tree (Beekey 210). The items you donate will help the following organizations: Berks County Food Bank, Animals in Distress, People for People Inc. and School, Allentown Food Bank, Last Chance Ranch, Homeless Children's Initiative, Schuylkill County Pet Food Pantry, Berks Women in Crisis.

Please place your name and address on the back of the ornament, attach it to the donated item and place it in the donation box before Nov. 15. For every ornament you fill out/donate you will be placed in a drawing to win a gift card from a variety of businesses in Kutztown. The academic progress requirements for financial aid have changed. Once again this semester, the Financial Aid Office will be hosting sessions to educate students and any faculty and staff members who are involved with advising students in matters of enrollment. Calling all Ghost, Goblins, and Yogurt Eaters
- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and KU’s Kappa Psi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority is sponsoring a Yogurt eating contest next Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. during the “free hour”. This ghoulish contest will take place on the lawn outside the McFarland Student Union Bldg. Any ghoul, zombie, student, faculty or staff can participate. The university received notice yesterday of the passing of Kutztown University professor emeritus, Dr. Arnold Newman. Professor Newman was a member of the English department from 1967-2001, department chair of the department from 1979-1993 and “was well-known for encouraging students and faculty to recognize the interdisciplinary nature of academics.” Dr. Newman’s funeral services are set for tomorrow. ATHLETICS

The KU football team continues its three-game road trip Saturday as the Golden Bears travel to Long Island to take on C.W. Post in a key PSAC East match-up.   C.W. Post is currently tied for first place in the division with Bloomsburg at 4-0.   KU and West Chester are tied for second place at 3-1.   KU controls its own destiny in pursuit of the PSAC East title, as the Golden Bears will play the three top teams in the division over the next three weeks.   Be sure to follow all of the action live on Saturday from C.W. Post on WEEU radio, 830 AM in southeastern Pennsylvania.  The broadcast can also be heard worldwide on the web at kubears.com.    Coverage begins at 12:45 p.m.



KU Women’s Bowling to host KU FALL BAKER/NCAA TEAM MATCHES OCT. 22-23:
  This event will be held at Berks Lanes, Reading, Pa. this weekend.  It will be one of only two home events on the KU women’s bowling schedule for 2011-12.  In addition to the Golden Bears, teams participating include Adelphi, St. Francis-PA, St. Peters, Long Island, Cheyney, Lincoln, Medaille, Hampton, Howard, Coppin State, Penn State-Altoona, Salem International and Tulane. There is no admission fee and competition begins at noon on Saturday, and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Hope to see you all at Berks Lanes.
