Majore Trio recital RESCHEDULED for Tues. Oct. 25, 7:30 p.m. in the Georgian Room. Join faculty cellist Marie-Aline Cadieux, pianist Rebecca Butler, and violinist Johannes Dietrich as they present unjustly neglected works for piano trio, including the toe-tapping Spanish Trio by Enrique Fernandez Arbos. The trio will be using the university’s beautiful new Steinway concert grand piano. The recital is free and open to the public.

The Office of Assessment is saddened to inform the campus community of the death of Lorraine Opiekun, mother of Kathi Malloy. Mrs. Opiekun passed away on Friday, Oct. 21. A mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Kutztown, on Thursday, October 27, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at Ludwick’s Funeral Home in Kutztown, and Thursday morning, 9 – 10 a.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association of Lehigh Valley or St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. John P. Schellenberg Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning - Call for Nominations:

PURPOSE: This award was established by John P. Schellenberg, emeriti Professor of Physical Sciences, faculty, alumni, and friends to recognize an early career faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding work within the mission of the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching (CET).

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the award, an individual must have been on the faculty full-time at least three but not more than seven years.
The recipient will be chosen based on the following three areas:
1) Pedagogy and Curriculum Innovation
2) Learning Technology Innovation
3) Assessment and/or Research on Learning

CURRENT AWARD: $750 check and a framed certificate. The award will be announced at the Faculty Recognition Ceremony on Nov. 30.
