Opiekun,
mother of
Kathi Malloy. Mrs. Opiekun passed away on Friday, Oct. 21. A mass will
be held at St. Mary’s Church, Kutztown, on Thursday, October 27, at 10 a.m.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at Ludwick’s Funeral
Home in Kutztown, and Thursday morning, 9 – 10 a.m., at the church. In
lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association of
Lehigh Valley or St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Condolences can be sent to Kathi at the Office of Assessment, 201 Grad Center.

Kutztown University Hosts Slam Poet, Andrea Gibson - Listen to
Andrea Gibson perform powerful poetry on Thursday, Oct. 27 in MSU 218 at 8 p.m.
Gibson is a fearless rock star of the poetry world. Her poems deconstruct gender
norms, sexuality, class, patriarchy and white, male, capitalist culture. This

might be a perfect commencement speaker? Encourage him/her to

Applications will be accepted from graduating masters students
cleared to walk at the fall 2011 commencement ceremony. In order
to be considered for this distinction, a candidate must meet the
following minimum requirements:
-have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 entering the fall
2011 semester
-demonstrate service to the university community and demonstrate
a record of good university citizenship and cooperation
(Presence of these qualities shall be demonstrated in the
application process and letters of recommendation.)
-be in good disciplinary standing

donate will help the following organizations: Berks County Food
Bank, Animals in Distress, People for People Inc. and School,
Allentown Food Bank, Last Chance Ranch, Homeless Children's
Initiative, Schuylkill County Pet Food Pantry, Berks Women in
Crisis.

attach it to the donated item and place it in the donation box
before Nov. 15. For every ornament you fill out/donate you will
