KU Presents! -  Seriously Fun Dance with Keigwin + Company: Fusing dance, physical comedy and cabaret into a wondrous concoction that inspires, entertains and will make you laugh, KEIGWIN + COMPANY performs “Elements,” a tongue-in-cheek adaptation of the four elements using splashy burlesque routines in a spa (water), vaudevillian-like dancing flames (fire), comic lizards (earth), and light-headed flight attendants (air) using a long play-list of vocalists and composers, who range from Debussy and Devo.  The Romantic Piano - Monday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Georgian Room of Old Main - Passion, creativity, virtuosity and imagination describe the music of the three most prominent composers of the Romantic era: Schumann, Chopin and Liszt, some of whose works are to be heard on Monday night’s recital by faculty member, Maria Asteriadou, inaugurating the new Steinway concert grand piano. With compositions of unique and individual conception, the piano arrives at an apotheosis of power, expression and depth. Celebrating Franz Liszt’s 200th anniversary, the program will include Schumann’s Fantasy, dedicated to Liszt; Liszt’s transcriptions of Chopin songs, as well as his Hungarian Rhapsody no. 12; and the Chopin Ballade in g minor. The concert is free and open to the public.

Kutztown Director of Athletics Greg Bamberger to be inducted into the Tri-County Area Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame - Kutztown University director of athletics Greg Bamberger will be inducted into the Tri-County Area Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Home in Pottstown, Pa. This is the 34th Annual Induction Dinner.

Heritage Harvest Fescht is Saturday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at KU. The event will feature PA Dutch music and entertainment, vendors, artisans, antique tractors, and folklife demonstrations including roof thatching, canning, blacksmithing, and hearth cooking. Plus, there will be food for sale by the Old Time Plow Boys, the Reading Berks Guild of Craftsmen will be displaying and selling their wares, and there will be wagon rides! New this year, compete with pot-bellied pigs in an apple bobbing contest. You can also help the Plow Boys harvest potatoes to be donated to a local food bank. Don’t miss this exciting, free event! Bear Tracks For Life 5K - 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 - Don’t miss this Saturday’s 6th annual 5k for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, Bear Tracks for Life. As part of the KU Family Day and Paint the Town Gold festivities, this is a great opportunity to run or walk an on-campus 3.1 miles and support breast cancer research. Constitution Day - Come and take a fascinating look at our nation's history with KU's own Betsy Ross, colorful cupcakes, trivia questions and giveaways on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the MSU lobby. The Student Union & Involvement Services Office is collecting donations of denim jeans and other denim items to be cut into quilt squares and sewn into blankets for injured soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq. Blocks will be decorated during our annual Constitution Day on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can be dropped off in MSU 153 until Sept. 21.
