More news on the upcoming day of service! Have unused mini shampoos, soaps,
toothpaste, etc from your summer vacation? Please drop them off at the Community Outreach Center.
We are now collecting items for Berks Women In Crisis and Turning Point for
emergency toiletry kits for victims of domestic abuse. We need mini or smaller
sized of the following items to put together kits on our Day of Service on
September 1: individual soaps, shampoo, conditioners, facial mask, nail
products of any kind, make-up of any kind, toothbrushes, tubes of toothpaste any
size, tampons or feminine pads. They do not have to be just the “mini/travel
size” – but since these are put into kits, the “mega” or “family” sized bottles
are too big, so, please, avoid these. Also, new/unused only. Thank you. These can
be dropped off at the Community Outreach Center, MSU 281 or contact me and we
will arrange to pick them up at your office. Also, thanks for the coupons
everyone is sending for our Day of Service – please keep them coming. Check your
Saturday and Sunday papers the next few weekends. Jerry W. Schearer, assistant dean, New Student Programs Updates to voice evacuation messages in buildings with voice-fire alarm systems will be performed this week (Aug. 20-22). SimplexGrinnell, the university’s fire alarm contractor will install the new message sets in fire alarm systems beginning on North campus on Saturday, then continue early next week. To ensure the message functions properly, a short test of the alarm message will be conducted; an announcement, immediately preceding the test, will alert building occupants to the impending test. Your understanding and cooperation while this important upgrade is made, will be appreciated. Stephen Helms, director, Environmental, Health & Safety Enterprise Rental Vehicles Drop-Off and Return Location During Move-In Weekend: All Enterprise rental vehicles that are being delivered or returned to campus from Friday, Aug. 24, through Sunday, Aug. 26, need to be located at the Academic Forum A6 parking lot to accommodate the Shuttle bus and students who are moving on campus this weekend. The F4 parking lot will not be available during this time. Normal drop off and delivery of rental vehicles to both parking lots will resume Monday, Aug. 27.
