I want to express my sincere gratitude to the many members of
the KU family for your kindness after the sudden passing of my mother, Carmen
Candau de Cevallos, last week. Your many thoughts, prayers and cards were a
great comfort to Josee, Alex, Caroline and me during this difficult time. I am
extremely thankful and proud be part of such a caring campus community. I truly
appreciate your support. F. Javier Cevallos, president Nearly a full house at the Rohrbach Library to celebrate the Chinese New Year! Pictures are on the KU Flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kutztownuniversity/ Student specialty shows are well underway here in 2012 and our commitment to campus and community public service talk continues this year with our popular "Tuesday Talk" segment every Tuesday this semester from noon to 4. The highlight of this coming Tuesday’s (Feb. 7) show is “Kutztown Live” with Mike R. who this week sits down at 2 Clark Frederic, whose distant ancestors built the former Kemp Hotel on the far north side of town across from the Weis Shopping Center. More recently, the Kemp Hotel was known as "Seasons Grille" in the mid 2000s and "The Whispering Springs Restaurant" in the 1990s and early 2000s. Unfortunately, it now sits abandoned and falling apart in 2012, but Frederic is trying to change that. If you're interested in Kutztown history, tune in for this fascinating and informative interview and find out how perhaps you can help save this important Kutztown landmark. Then at 2:30, Mike R. chats with a representative from the national non-profit anti-depression/addiction/self-injury/suicide organization "To Write Love on Her Arms."
