
The Kutztown University men’s rugby team
was victorious in both games yesterday at
the Men’s CRC Qualifier 7s/Las Vegas Invitational Tournament.
The Golden Bears clobbered Creighton, 52-5, in the opener, and shutout
Claremont, 42-0, in the nightcap. KU faces Missouri today at 11 a.m. EST.
If the team is victorious, it will compete in the tournament quarterfinals
beginning at 4 p.m. EST today. The semifinals and finals are slated for
tomorrow. The winner of the 32-team tournament will qualify to play on NBC in
the June tournament in Chester. Tournament information can be found at:

Professor of fine arts, Evan Summer, presents a Faculty Shop Talk, “Printmaking in the U.S. and China” on Friday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m. in MSU. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Professor Evan Summer specializes in etching and combines it with other
techniques and prepares his own printing.
Summer’s art work has been displayed around the world in many of his own
exhibitions including the Guanlan International Printmaking Workshop in China
(2010), and the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice (2007). Summer’s also
received the Tai-he Masterpiece Award at the Beijing International Print
Biennial along with two awards offered by Kutztown University. In late August
2011, Professor Summer was recognized by the KU Foundation & Alumni Engagement
with the Arthur & Isabel Wiesenberger Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching
presented annually to one faculty member who has served Kutztown University in a
manner which sets him or her apart from faculty colleagues.
Eve Ensler’s, “The Vagina Monologues” returns, and will be presented by the Women’s Center and FMLA on Feb. 9 and 10, in MSU, room 218, at 7 p.m. This student production is performed in conjunction with worldwide V-Day campaigns to raise awareness and funds for local anti-violence initiatives. Tickets are $5 with a student I.D. and $10 for non-students and may be purchased by cash or check at the MSU Information Desk. Proceeds will be donated to Berks Women in Crisis, Planned Parenthood of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the V-DAY International Spotlight: Women and Children of Haiti.
