Hill, director, Women's Center & GLBTQ Resource Center Activating your D2L courses - As we approach the start of the Spring semester we want to remind faculty that courses in Desire2Learn are created as "inactive". This simply means you will be able to have access to your D2L learning space sooner, since your students will not have access to your course until you choose to make your course status "active". Instructions for activating your courses are available within Desire2Learn. Please contact D2Ladmin@kutztown.edu with any questions. Jim Brenneck, LMS manager, Office of Academic Affairs Faculty - The MSU advisory board is looking for short-term assistance serving on a committee to develop a five-year plan for the building. The anticipated commitment would take place during the spring 2012 semester and consist of one hour meetings every two weeks. Meetings will take place on Friday’s at 2 p.m. (every two weeks). If you are available during this time and have an interest in participating in such a committee, please send an email to: scarciak@kutztown.edu. Thank you for your time and consideration. Trisha J. Scarcia-King 2012 Spring Semester Academic Department Chairs List
- Elsa G. Collins, President’s Office The University Curriculum Committee (UCC) will meet on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m., in MSU 312, to consider the curricular proposals on its January agenda, which can be found online at http:// www.kutztown.edu/committees/ucc/agenda.html. Individuals and/or departments with proposals on the agenda are invited and encouraged to attend to answer any questions that may arise. R.S. Schaeffer, chair, University Curriculum Committee Emergency Evacuation Drills Planned - The Office of Environmental Safety & Health will be conducting the required semi-annual fire/emergency evacuation drills of the academic buildings during the first two days of classes, weather permitting. These drills are conducted to refresh faculty and staff on the necessary steps required to swiftly and safely evacuate their classrooms and offices. Please remember to turn off lights and close hallway doors upon exiting the building, and have your class walk well clear from the building exits to allow others to evacuate quickly and smoothly. These drills should be completed in under 10 minutes, but may come at the beginning, middle, or end of the class period. Please plan accordingly by reviewing emergency evacuation procedures with each class during your initial introduction. There will only be one drill per building. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this necessary exercise. Mark W. Hostetter, Fire Safety Technician |
