THE DAILY BRIEF

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Work which was scheduled to start Jul. 18 in support of the Schaeffer Construction project, has been postponed until next week so as not to exasperate the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic along Main Street. The following work will begin along Main Street: Bus shelter removal, selected replacement of sidewalks and curbs, new masonry piers, new bollards and chains, new plantings and bituminous milling and re-pavement at crosswalks. Comments or concerns should be directed to Jeff Mosser, project manager, jeffrey.mosser@stvinc.com.

Terry D. Brown, director, Facilities Project Services

In support of the ongoing renovations to the Stratton Administration Center,
today we are receiving structural steel for the rear entrance and on Monday, Jul. 23, we will be receiving the new generators for the Data Center. As a result, the first row of parking nearest the building will be closed to accommodate tractor-trailers and cranes as we off-load the equipment. New temporary traffic patterns will be in effect during this time to maintain access to the remainder of the parking lot. Please drive slowly as all adjust to the new traffic patterns and do not walk beneath or near any equipment as it is being moved overhead. Questions or concerns should be addressed to Chris Scott, project manager at
scott@kutztown.edu. Thank you.

Annual fire sprinkler inspections and testing in residence halls, education and general purpose buildings will be performed by Kistler-O’Brien Fire Protection beginning Monday, Jul. 23, through Friday, Aug. 17. While most work will be transparent to the building occupants, inspection personnel may be observed checking sprinkler components located in corridors, stairwells, mechanical rooms and closets. This work will also include internal inspection of piping in various sections of Old Main, as well as testing of the fire pumps in those buildings so equipped. The inspectors will be in company uniform displaying the Kistler-O’Brien logo. We appreciate your cooperation during this important process to ensure proper operation of these safety systems.
