"The Dinner Party" curriculum, written and developed here at KU
was mentioned in a Huffington Post interview with artist Judy Chicago,
founder of "Through the Flower," a non-profit feminist art organization founded
in 1978. KU's Department of Art Education & Crafts, in partnership with the
National Art Education Association and Through the Flower, offers a teachers'
workshop at KU each summer to investigate the artwork for which Chicago is most
well known. "The Dinner Party," permanently installed at the Brooklyn Museum,
celebrates the achievements of 1,038 women in history. Through the Flower’s
mission is to educate a broad public about the importance of art and its power
in countering the erasure of women's achievements. Here's the story. KU is mentioned about halfway down.
