“Ghost in the House” portrays the last few years of the life of Jack Johnson. The story of Jack Johnson deals with sports and racism in the early 1900s. After Johnson beat the world heavyweight champion (Tommy Burns) in 1908, white people called for a “Great White Hope,” a white boxer that could beat Johnson. Johnson’s victory helped black athletes gain entrance into sports and change perceptions of black people. Johnson was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1954, and is on the roster of both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. His story is a lesson about racism, culture and overcoming adversity. The show is tonight only in the MSU at 7 p.m.

For “Ghost in the House” show bookings, additional information or information about other shows, please contact Dr. James Ogden at 610-434-6252 or docogden@verizon.net. Tickets are available for $45 for regular seats and $150 for premium seats which include a reception with Todd and Megna. This event is sponsored by Kutztown University’s Multicultural Center and The Center for Retailing Solutions.
