ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kutztown University softball (52-5) battled for 12 long, grueling innings, and came-up victorious with a Golden Bears' 1-0 victory over the University of California-San Diego Tritons, the reigning NCAA Division II Softball Champions. Pitcher Samantha Derr hit a walk-off single to left field, knocking in a run from third to bring the Golden Bears to its second consecutive shutout of the NCAA Division II Championship. Derr also pitched all 12 innings of scoreless ball. The Golden Bears are ranked third in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 25 poll. Additionally, KU's 52 wins are a school record.

“That was a huge win for us,” said coach Judy Lawes said. “We didn't get the runs when we wanted, but we still managed to pull it out. Sam was unstoppable and phenomenal on the mound. We still have a ways to go but it was a well-fought game.”

KU had three of its eight hits in the 12th inning. Senior Kelly Fitzgerald led off with a double to left field as junior Katie Lynch, singled to center field to put the Golden Bears in scoring position. Derr's patience paid off big time as she singled up the middle off a 1-0 count to close the game.

 JAMBO --- The Boy Scouts of America will be celebrating scouting with the a Jamboree that will be held on our campus this weekend, May 18-20, (http://www.minsitrails.com/Jambo2012). Over 8,000 scouts, family members and volunteers will be camping on north campus beginning Friday at 5 p.m. Please be aware that traffic on campus will be heavy with the numbers of vehicles and trailers coming for the weekend. Public Safety & Police Services will be bringing in the traffic on Lytle Lane and Luckenbill Road. Both of the roadways will be closed to one-way traffic from 4:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 18, to accommodate move in. All of the parking lots on North campus are being utilized for this event until 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 20. On south campus, lots C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, F3, F4, D2, and D3 will be closed on Thursday night to accommodate the number of activities and programs that are taking place all weekend. Should you decide to come to campus this weekend or will be here after 4 p.m. this Friday, please plan to park in one of the following lots - A2, A3, B1, F1, F2, E1 or E2. Please contact either the Office of Conference Services (x3-1359) or Public Safety and Police Services (x3-4002) with questions.  ATHLETICS

 KU baseball got the tying run to second in the bottom of the ninth, but Mercyhurst held on for a 6-5 win in the first round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional in a contest played at Owls Field. Trailing by two heading into their last at bat, but Kyle Stoudt ripped a shot that scooted past the Laker left fielder for a triple. Travis Kreitz followed with a single to cut the deficit to one, advancing to second on an error, and chasing Mercyhurst's Brad Duffy from the game. See the rest of the story at http://kubears.com

KU Dining Services – Green Meal Tickets

The green meal tickets that are currently being used at the South Side Cafe will expire May 31, 2012.  Any unused meal tickets that are left can be returned to Tammy Moyer, Purchasing Dept., 223B Stratton Administration Center along with the PO number that needs to be closed for those tickets. Starting June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013, the new meal tickets will be orange.
