Idea Training on Tuesday Nov. 13, at 3:30 p.m. in room AF200 - Training will be conducted via webinar by a representative from IDEA on "How to complete your Faculty Information Form (F.I.F.)". All KU faculty will be required to complete these forms each semester prior to teaching courses scheduled for student evaluation. This training will focus on both the paper version of this form (for traditional on-campus courses) and the online version of this form (that will be available for faculty teaching Distance Education courses or computer lab courses.) Room AF 200 will seat 200 and the Webinar will be recorded and posted as a “link” to accommodate those faculty unable to participate in this session.

Lucky 13 Sale – On Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., the KU Student Bookstore is hosting another one-hour-sale event. A select style of black "Kutztown" sweatpants will be on sale for only $13, while supplies last. The same sale will take place at 11 p.m. that night at Dixon Marketplace. Quantities are limited, so get there early!

Thank you to all faculty for submitting your textbook adoptions in a timely manner. Your attention to this allows the Bookstore to buy more used books from our students at Textbook Buyback, putting more money in their pockets and more used copies on our bookstore shelves. As we prepare for the spring semester, we are attempting to ensure all course material information on our website is accurate and complete. We are reaching out to faculty and asking that they please take a minute and check to make sure their courses are listed on our website with accurate information. You can find this information at: www.kubstore.com and click on “Textbooks”, “Shop and Compare our textbook prices”, select “Spring 2013”, and choose your department, course, and section. From there, click “Compare Prices On These Course Materials” button then click “Begin Price Comparison”.

If your course and section do not appear, we may have not received your textbook adoption yet. The Secondary Education Department Presents "American Teacher"
- Weaving interviews of policy experts and startling facts with the lives and careers of four teachers, American Teacher tells the collective story by and about those closest to the issues in our educational system -- the 3.2 million teachers who spend every day in classrooms across our country. On Tuesday Nov. 13, at 4 p.m., in the Alumni Auditorium, MSU. $2 donation - all proceeds will be given to local underfunded middle schools.


Individuals and groups are invited to design a gift basket for the annual Holiday Gift Basket event that supports the KUBoK Neighborhood Watch. Baskets will be displayed downtown Sunday, December 2 and on-campus in the MSU Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 5 and 6. Winners will be identified and contacted on Friday, Dec. 7.

Be creative—baskets can be based around a theme, a hobby, sporting team, or anything that comes to mind. Baskets should be gift-wrapped in cellophane and can be dropped off at the Dean of Students office, MSU 262. Give your basket a creative name and identify who it is being sponsored by. The next University Curriculum Committee (UCC) meeting for the 2012-2013 academic year will be held on Nov. 29. The deadline for submission of all proposals for this meeting is 12 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Because of the upcoming holiday, no proposals will be accepted after this date. Student Trustee nominations: Nominate those students who could best serve the university as its Student Trustee. Below you will find the list of basic qualifications and requirements which will serve as the criteria for the selection process. Please note that candidates must be full-time, undergraduate student, with 32 or more credits completed by the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester and be able to serve on the council for two academic years. The nomination deadline is Nov. 16. All nominations must be submitted in writing and must include the student's name, address and local telephone number. We will immediately contact students nominated for the position. We would appreciate receiving your information as quickly as possible to give the nominee sufficient time to complete the application process, which has a deadline of Jan. 7, 2013.
