Rohrbach Library Open House - The Rohrbach Library will be having our third open house event on Sept. 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, we have added a pirate theme and have scheduled the open house on Talk Like a Pirate Day. The event gives KU students a chance to explore the library and discover the resources and services that we offer while having some fun and possibly winning prizes. Students will take a self-guided tour around the building to different stops where they will interact with staff to learn about the library. So far, the top prizes include two $50 cash prizes and four $25 gift cards to the book store. There will be a place for the students to list a course on their ticket, and any professors who would like to use this library tour for credit or extra credit in their classes can contact professor Krista Prock, prock@kutztown.edu or professor Karen Wanamaker, kwanamak@kutztown.edu for more information. Viewpoints – Kutztown University Dining Services Office is reminding the university community that Viewpoints dining area, upstairs in the South Dining Hall, is no longer available for seating during meals. It is available to reserve for meetings when meals as being ordered through the catering department. The South Dining Hall, South Side Cafe all-you-care-to-eat buffet is available for your eating pleasure. The walk-in fee at the South Side Cafe for lunch will be $6.80. When you purchase DINING DOLLARS you may eat at the South Side Cafe for $5.25 That’s a lunch savings of $1.55! Adding Dining Dollars to your account is easy! Simply visit the KU Card Office located in McFarland Student Union Room 288 to make your deposit using cash or check and we’ll take care of the rest.

The Undergraduate Office of Admissions has begun hosting campus tours. Tours will be offered nearly every weekday at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and most Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. through Saturday, Dec. 8. "Misa's Fugue" Film, Art Show, and Director's Question & Answer - The story of Frank Grunwald is one of a holocaust survivor who was able to persevere through years of persecution and oppression, through his love for music and art. The film was created through a collaboration of the students and staff of Fleetwood Area High School, who have worked tirelessly on this film to share the story of someone who experienced loss and suffering, and discovered himself and survived through his love for the arts.

Waldorf Education Study Group - Interested individuals are coming together to discuss readings about Waldorf Education. This study group will develop based on the needs of the participants. The first meeting is Monday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m. The first reading for Sept. 10 - Understanding Waldorf Education: Teaching from the Inside Out by Jack Petrash. Kutztown University’s Off-Campus Student Life and Commuter Services Offices will again be organizing a Community Blitz on Saturday, Sept. 8, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., to welcome back students living in the Kutztown community. We’ll meet at Trinity Church (357 W. Main Street) at 11 a.m. to form and send out teams that will distribute welcome bags to identified student housing in the borough. Afterwards, all volunteers are invited to the Community Blitz Picnic for off-campus students and residents of Kutztown Borough from 1 – 3 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Paul’s UCC Church on S. Whiteoak Street.

We need your help! First, we’re collecting promotional materials and/or giveaways to put in the welcome bags to introduce off-campus students to offices/programs on campus. Second, we need people to help Kutztown Mayor Green and President Cevallos distribute bags to off-campus students before the picnic. Please contact Susan Mangold at
