As part of the celebration of Black History Month
you are invited to the 2013 National African
American Literature Read-In to be held in the Alumni Auditorium (MSU 183) from
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18. Sponsored by the Department of English and
hosted by Dr. Ellesia A. Blaque, all are invited to read or recite works of
African American literature or perform their own poetry. Drinks and snacks will
be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Kutztown University's Department of Music is proud to host its inaugural Woodwind Day on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The daylong event will feature workshops and master classes with KU faculty, as well as guest artists “Project Trio” and oboist, Nobuo Kitigawa. “Project Trio” (featuring the Beat-Box flutist, Greg Pattillo) will perform that evening in Ursa Minor’s Café at 7:30 p.m. Woodwind Day is free and open to all interested high school and college wind players. This program was a collaborative effort of the Berks County Intermediate Unit’s Transition Coordinating Council, Berks County high schools, Kutztown University and RACC. This is an information session that is being held to give students more information about living off campus. There will be free food and prizes. The deadline to apply is February 22, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. All recommendation forms from faculty and staff members must be turned in by that day and time. Any forms turned in or received past that deadline will not be accepted, so be sure to allow for appropriate time for campus mail delivery, or hand deliver forms directly to the Office of Student Involvement, 153 McFarland Student Union.
