This romantic romp views human folly warmly while taking sly pokes at class and gender roles. Exiled into the wilderness by usurpers of power, bands of the formerly privileged encounter one another and find redemption in nature, humility, and of course, true love. Resourceful Rosalind, disguised as a boy, wittily woos her smitten suitor, Orlando, in one of Shakespeare’s most popular comic courtships. This production, per-formed by KU students and directed by theatre professor Roxane Rix, adds to the fun by setting the action in the make-love-not-war late 1960’s.
