Need to relax after a challenging day of classes? Kutztown University's DMZ, a grassy, park-like plot of land at the center of our residence halls, is always alive with student activity. On any given day you will find students studying, relaxing or playing a pick-up game of football on the DMZ. Many organized activities, such as Earth Day and Greek events, are held here as well.
The DMZ holds a unique place in the history of Kutztown University. It received its title when the university became coeducational. Men were housed on one side, women on the other. Dorms were strictly off-limits to members of the opposite sex and the demilitarized zone, DMZ, was the only permitted co-ed meeting place!
