  I.   If you already have a roommate request, please follow these instructions to request/confirm roommate for new incoming students.

You may begin entering your roommate request after 9 am on May 15th.  Deadline for submitting all roommate requests is June 23, 2017, 4:00 pm.

  • To participate in this process you must have completed the $75 housing processing fee and have not already been assigned. ·
  • If you have already been assigned, email housing@kutztown.edu (include you and your requested roommates full legal names in the 'subject line' of the email) before deadline of June 23.
  • You may only request one roommate online.  If you wish to live in a triple occupancy room with two roommates, all three eligible students must send an email to housing@kutztown.edu (include you and your requested roommates full legal names in the 'subject line' of the email) before the deadline of June 23. ·
  • Our goal is to honor as many roommate requests as possible, however, roommate requests are not guaranteed based on many factors such as available open rooms, eligibility of students, timing of housing fee payment and type of roommate request, etc..
  • Request and Confirm your "eligible" roommate ONLINE following the steps below.
  1. Login to Mykuhousing https://mykuhousing.kutztown.edu/thdss/security/login_student_local.cfm during these dates: May 15, 9 am - June 23, 4:00 pm
  2. Click down arrow next to Room Selection at top of screen
  3. Select "Roommates/Suitemates" tab
  4. Select term Fall 2017: click submit Accept (green box)/decline (red box) your pending roommate request if you have any. You can also send a message to pending requests by clicking on blue box OR View their profile if there is one (yellow box)
  5. If you don't have any roommate requests pending: Add a Roommate/suitemate under "Simple Roommate Search" by entering last name. Select the correct student from the list of those students displayed, then click continue. Your requested roommate, MUST confirm your request.  If you request a roommate and then decide you don't want to reside with them you MUST decline them (using the red box under the roommate/suitemate section) before June 23rd.

II.    If you want to look for a roommate

A Roommate Finder resource has been developed as another way for you to search for a roommate.  The profile questions in this resource were developed based on recommendations from some of our current KU students.

  • Please feel free to use this resource to assist you in finding a roommate/suitemate(s) for the FALL 2017 SEMESTER.
  • NOTE:  the profile questions are used ONLY to assist you with connecting with other new students to open up conversation.  It does not impact the building-type of assignment that is completed for you.
  •  If you have requested to reside in a LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY, please try to find a roommate that has also requested that same LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY.   See write-in section of database to enter specific information about yourself or what you are looking for in a roommate (example:  I have applied for the Living Learning Art floor and am looking for a roommate who has also applied for the same).
  • All students involved in the request must have completed the $75 housing application fee payment process to be eligible to request a roommate.  While our goal is to honor as many roommate requests as possible, roommate requests are not guaranteed based on many factors such as available open rooms, eligibility of students, timing of housing fee payment and type of roommate request, etc.
  • If you have questions about these processes, please contact our central office during business hours (8 am - 4:00 pm) Monday-Friday in 106 Old Main.

To begin:

  • Login to https://roommate.app.kutztown.edu
  • Enter your Network ID (user name without the @live) and password (this is the same ID/password you use for Mykuhousing and MyKU.
  • Select "Profile' and complete the form describing your characteristics.
  • Once that has been submitted you may begin using the 'Search' feature.

The more students that complete a profile, the more available students there are to search for successfully.   You may want to check back periodically as the pool of students in this database should change as more students submit profiles.   This has been developed for your benefit to provide you with a way to begin searching for a roommate or suitemate(s) for the next academic year.  Please be considerate when contacting students.  When you no longer need this resource, please use the 'Clear' button under the 'Profile' feature; this will prevent you from receiving unnecessary e-mails or phone calls.   Once you have a roommate request, please follow the instructions in Section I. during the dates of May 15 - June 23, 2017.
