Employee of the Year

To recognize current university employees who have served Kutztown University in an exceptional manner by exemplifying outstanding service through his or her work and exhibiting a positive and supportive attitude.

Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by Dr. Hawkinson.

  •  January 2018 ★ Timothy Flannery ★ EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 2018

    Employee of the Month
    Please join President Hawkinson and the HR Advisory Council in congratulating Tim Flannery for being named the January 2018 Employee of the Month.

    Flannery, Head Swimming Coach in Intercollegiate Athletic Services, has been with the university since September 1996.

    According to his nominator – Dontez Jolly of the Track & Field team, “Coach Flannery has made an impact on my life, and I can’t thank him enough for what he’s done for me.” This is in reference to Coach Flannery teaching Jolly how to swim.

    Upon receiving his award, Tim was all hugs and smiles as he stated, “This is the best kind of surprise.”

  •  August 2016 ★ Sharon Young ★ EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 2017

    Employee of the Month
    Please join President Hawkinson and the HR Advisory Council in congratulating Sharon Young for being named the August 2016 Employee of the Month.

    Sharon, the Coordinator of Client Services in Information Technology, has been with the university since January 1990.

    According to her nominator, Sharon is an invaluable asset to KU because she, “gives explanations as to why computer issues may be occurring, and educates you at the same time with helpful hints for you to try, should the issue arise again.”

    Not only is Sharon surprised and happy to be receiving this award, she is super-excited about having reserved parking!
