January 2019 ★ Marsha Cressman

Please join President Hawkinson and the HR Advisory Council in congratulating Marsha Cressman for being named the January 2019 Employee of the Month.

Marsha, Custodial Worker 1 in Facilities, has been with the university since March 2006.

On January 24, 2019, Marsha administered the Heimlich maneuver to a choking student. According to her nominator, “Her quick action and ability to remain calm in such a critical moment likely saved this young man’s life.”

Upon receiving her award, Marsha was completely surprised. When asked about her heroic efforts, she simply stated, “I just did what I had to do.”
