Temporary Faculty Position in Chemistry

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Physical Sciences at Kutztown University invites applications for a one-year, full-time Chemistry instructor beginning August 2024. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field; and two years of college-level teaching experience or equivalent. Primary responsibilities will involve teaching at least 12 contact hours per academic semester and may include General Chemistry lectures and/or laboratories and/or non-science major lecture and laboratories. Course modalities and in person. Some evening labs may be required. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant ability are required along with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
