Part-Time Temporary Faculty Position in Communication Studies

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Communication Studies at Kutztown University invites applications for a temporary, part-time faculty position to teach a single, undergraduate course (SMS 322: User Experience Research & Design) face-to-face or asynchronously online in Spring 2023 for the Social Media Theory & Strategy program. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: Master’s degree in Communication Studies or a related field. Preferred: Ph.D. or Ed.D.  The applicant should demonstrate a clear understanding of UI/UX Research and Design including, but not limited to, constructing wireframes, developing user journey maps, and conducting usability studies. Successful online interview and online teaching demonstration of relevant ability required.
