Temporary Part-Time Faculty Position in Composition

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of English at Kutztown University invites applications for a temporary, part-time faculty position in Composition for Fall 2023. The position comprises three courses in Fall, all in Composition. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a Master’s degree in English, Composition, Writing, Communications, or a related field; and one year of teaching experience in Composition or First-Year writing. Preferred: doctorate. Teaching load includes Composition 100. Letter of application should include a brief statement of how the candidate’s teaching, scholarship and/or creative work, and/or service demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
