Part-Time Temporary Faculty Position in Composition

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The English Department at Kutztown University invites applications for a temporary, part-time position in Composition, to begin in Fall 2023. Secondary teaching expertise in Journalism is desirable. The position comprises up to three courses in Fall, with additional courses likely in Spring, depending on department need. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a Master’s degree in English, Composition, Writing, Communications, or a related field; and one year of teaching experience in Composition or First-Year Writing. Preferred: a doctorate. Teaching load includes Composition 100 and Composition 200, depending on department need and candidate’s expertise. Letter of application should include a brief statement of how the candidate’s teaching, scholarship and/or creative work, and/or service demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
