Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Physical Sciences at Kutztown University invites applications for a one-year, full-time temporary faculty position in Physics beginning August 2023. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: Master’s degree, or higher, in Physics; and two years of prior experience teaching college-level physics courses. Teaching responsibilities will include both lecture and laboratory sections of introductory-level Physics I (in the fall) and Physics II (in the spring) for science majors, and a support course on developing mathematical problem-solving skills for first year undergraduates. Course modalities will be in person. The teaching load consists of twenty-four contact hours per academic year.
