Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of English at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in its newly-created, innovative public relations program, which features a state-of-the-art PR studio space where students experience real-world agency practices. The 4/4 teaching load for this position will include courses such as Public Relations Ethics and Law, Research for Public Relations, Writing for Social Media, Writing for Public Relations, and either Writing for the Workplace or English Composition, depending on the candidate’s expertise and department need. We seek a colleague with experience in visual communication, including video production, photography, and Adobe CS. Successful interview and demonstration of teaching abilities required.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a terminal degree or doctorate in English, Writing, Communications or a related field; professional experience in the industry of Public Relations. College-level teaching with diverse populations is preferred.
