Welcome to KU! In this Quick Start Guide, you’ll find helpful information to help you hit the ground running with university technology resources. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff are passionate about the role technology can play at Kutztown, so if you don’t see what you’re looking for or need further assistance please feel free to contact us.
Your KU Username
Your KU Username
A KU username (also known as a KU User ID) is created for all students that have paid their ARD (Advanced Registration Deposit). For students, your username will be the first letter of your first name, the first four letters of your last name, and a series of three numbers. Your username is used to access university computers, networks, email, and services.
Reset Your Password
Passwords are good for 180 days. Every 180 days, a password reset will be required to promote account security. You’ll be reminded (via email) well in advance when it’s time to change your network password. Self Service password resets allow you to easily change your password online. If you have forgotten your current password or need assistance, call the IT Help Center at 610-683-1511 to reset your password.

Visit Campus Computer Labs
There are several public computer labs across campus that are available to all students. There are also classroom computer labs and curriculum restricted labs on campus that are open to specific classes and majors.
Print on Campus
Students are given a printing allocation of 300 pages per semester. If you use up your allotment, you can request additional pages at no cost.
KU has recently adopted Mobility Print and Email to Print. These services provide students with print-friendly access to their own documents from their personal devices.
Printing is also available in all computer labs.

Microsoft Office 365 is available to all Kutztown University faculty, staff, and students at no charge. Office 365 includes unlimited access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications both online and on up to five devices (while an active student). In addition to the applications, OneDrive provides cloud storage space.

In addition, some technology companies provide discounts for faculty, staff, and students for home use.
Manage KU Alert Notifications
In the event of an emergency, timely and accurate communication of information is critical.
