Benefits of Joining ROTC in College

Aside from obtaining an education in college, participating in extra-curricular activities is another major part of the college experience. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is one of the nation's top leadership programs, with a wide variety of benefits. Not only do you get valuable experience in terms of training and education, you are also able to carry on with the normal activities and studies that college provides. Through Army ROTC students can:

  • Receive help with college tuition through an Army ROTC Scholarship
  • Gain experience not found anywhere else
  • Gain the respect of peers and future employers

Army ROTC enables students to enroll in elective leadership and military courses in addition to their required courses. You will learn to become a leader- not just a person who gives orders but a person who leads by example. These benefits last a lifetime. ROTC may be taken during the freshman and sophomore years without incurring a military obligation. Most classes are taught on Kutztown University's campus and students can earn academic credit.
