Congratulations on your student's acceptance to Kutztown University!

 Why should you attend Parent-Family Orientation at KU? This program prepares parents and families for the personal adjustments that come with sending a child to college. At this program you will:

  • learn first year success strategies
  • increase your awareness of financial aid and college costs
  • learn how to encourage and emotionally support your student through their college journey
  • learn about KU's student services and how to maximize their use

Event Information and Agenda

  • Check-in starts at 8:15 AM
  • Program begins at 9:00 AM
  • Location : McFarland Student Union, room 218
  • End of program - approximately 3:30 PM (the schedule is subject to change. Your student may need to stay longer depending on their needs. Please plan ahead).

 Attendance and Fees

  • All fees are non-fundable and due at the time of registration. Register early for Parent Orientation. There is limited seating.

 Special Accommodations for a Disability

  • "Persons with a disability, and who require accommodation, should notify the Disability Services Office two weeks prior to the event at 610-683-4108 or email DSO@kutztown.edu, TDD number: 610-683-4499, in order to discuss accommodations. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations. Please note: Kutztown University does not provide wheelchairs or other mobility devices."

For Parents and Families Attending Orientation

  •   To plan for a enjoyable day, consider spending the night in the area if you are traveling more than one hour. A list of area hotels can be found here. It is important to arrive on time for orientation. The Parent-Family Program involves walking. The weather may fluctuate and rooms are air-conditioned, but you may feel warmer or cooler depending on the number of people and your personal temperature preference. You may wish to bring a sweater, jacket and/or umbrella.
