Parking During Move-In Week

August 21-27, 2017

Kutztown University appreciates your compliance with the following unloading and parking procedures for Move-In Week (Monday, August 21 through Sunday, August 27). Following these rules will improve the move-in experience for everyone.

  1. At no time should students park in yellow-lined or green-lined spaces.
  2. Beginning Monday, August 21st, students who need to unload their vehicles may park near their residence hall for 20 minutes. The vehicle's 4-way flashers must be on and they may not park in or block handicap spaces, reserved spaces, walkways or roadways. The DMZ will not be open for unloading until Saturday, August 26th.
  3. The 20 minutes begin as soon as the vehicle is parked for unloading. Immediately after unloading, all students must park in one of the following parking locations and in white-lined spaces only through Sunday, August 27th at 3:00pm: upperclassmen (B2 or B3 parking lots) and freshmen (A4 or A5 parking lots) . This will allow both freshmen and upperclassmen who have yet to move in ample space near their residence hall to unload their belongings. (View the KU campus map here.)
  4. The C lots are closed to parking beginning Monday, August 21st.
  5. Security officers have been instructed to ticket vehicles that do not move their vehicles immediately after move-in. Athletes and student staff must also move their vehicles when finished moving in.
  6. All students with vehicles should immediately register your vehicle via their myKU student account and retrieve their permanent decal as soon as possible. Decals are available from Public Safety in Old Main 13 every business day.
  7. Please observe all instructions on temporary signage at the entrances to and within campus parking lots which provide parking regulations for move-in week.
  8. Beginning on Sunday, August 27 at 3:00pm, vehicles may be moved from the north side of campus to the C lots or Fairgrounds, depending upon the parking assignment given to them when they register their vehicle. Classes begin on Monday, August 28th.
  9. Once they have retrieved their permanent parking decal, the temporary one issued upon registration is null and void. They must park only in their assigned lot(s). Parking Enforcement Officers will be checking all vehicles as soon as the semester begins.

  1. If family members or friends are helping a student move in, they must abide by the regulations listed above and park for no longer that 20 minutes to unload their vehicles. Their 4-way flashers must be on and their vehicle(s) may not park in or block handicap spaces, reserved spaces, walkways or roadways.
  2. Once they have unloaded their vehicles, they may temporarily park in lots C3 or C5 on South Campus for their convenience. However, there is no overnight parking in these lots.
