Kutztown University Stands with its Asian American Community

Dear KU Campus Community,

The tragic events in Atlanta Tuesday, and the recent reports of hate crimes around our country against Asian Americans are disturbing and appalling. Kutztown University stands with its Asian American students, faculty, staff and alumni. We will continue to state that
Kutztown University rejects all forms of racism, violence, sexism, bigotry, brutality and discrimination.

Our University Community Response Team, chaired by KU's dean of students, proactively works to promote a welcoming campus for all. The KU community is encouraged to visit the task force website at the following link to better understand its mission and goals.

In addition, we have several initiatives in place to support our commitment of making KU a safe and welcoming place for all. The most recent addition comes from the State System's Executive Leadership Group – comprised of the chancellor and all 14 university presidents – who unanimously voted to implement required diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training for all employees and students.  Information with instructions is being sent to the campus community by email.

KU community members are encouraged to join the Residence Life Social Justice Committee one week from today (Thursday, March 25 at 7 p.m.) in the Multicultural Center to help keep our living space Hate Free. There will be an opportunity to make HATE Free signs, get FREE stickers, and more.
