Message to KU Campus reaffirming commitment to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

August 26, 2020

Dear KU Campus Community,

In light of the recent shooting of Mr. Jacob Blake, Kutztown University reaffirms its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. As stated before, Kutztown University rejects all forms of racism, sexism, bigotry, brutality and discrimination. Kutztown University also stands behind its students of color. Black Lives Matter.

We know that just stating our convictions is not enough. Earlier this summer, KU communicated more than 100 action items to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion on our campus.  The full list can be viewed here: https://www.kutztown.edu/about-ku/administrative-offices/presidents-office/statements-and-addresses/action-items-related-to-diversity-equity-and-inclusion.html

To further support the campus community during this time of racial injustice, we encourage the campus community to attend Unity Day on Thursday, September 10 at 4 p.m.  More information on this year’s virtual event will be forthcoming.

In addition, the topic of the September 1 Multicultural Center Weekly Tuesday Chat will be Jacob Blake & Police Shootings. We invite you to join the conversation via Zoom Tuesday at 6 p.m. using the below information:
