Student Member of the Board of Governors

Dear KU Students,

Our university is a proud member of Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, which is overseen by the Board of Governors – a 20-member body that includes the Governor, the Secretary of Education, legislators, trustees and three students among its members. One current student member will rotate off the Board upon graduation in May, so the search is underway to identify a replacement.

As president of the university, I have the honor of nominating one student for the Board to consider when it makes the appointment later this spring. If you are interested in serving as a student member of the Board of Governors, you can learn more here. If you decide to offer your name for consideration, you will need to provide to me

  1. A letter of intent stating why you want to serve;
  2. Your resume; and
  3. A copy of your unofficial transcript.

Applications can be submitted by email () or in-person (303 Stratton) and are due Friday, April 15.

I will review all applications received and will send the information for my nominee to the Office of the Chancellor. After that, the Board of Governors will review the nominations received from around the State System and will make the appointment later this spring.

Thank you for your attention to this unique service and leadership opportunity.
