Standards for Doing Business with KU

Administration and Finance

A&F-003:  Compressed Gas Cylinders - Defines the procedures for handling and storage of compressed gas cylinders.

A&F-004:  Emergency Evacuation and Fire Drills for Non-Residence Buildings - policy and procedure for the execution of emergency evacuation and fire drills in Kutztown University non-residence buildings.

A&F-005:  Hazardous Waste Management and Disposal - establish a policy and procedures for the management, handling, transportation and disposal of hazardous wastes.

A&F-006:  Infectious Waste Management and Disposal - policy and procedure for management, handling, transportation and disposal of infectious and biological wastes generated by Kutztown University.

A&F-007:  Key & Lock Policy - provide additional security for university faculty, staff, students and property through the establishment of a comprehensive policy and procedure regarding the issuance, use of and responsibility for University keys, cards and locking systems.

A&F-008:  Kutztown University ID Card - define the eligibility requirements and related responsibilities of the KU ID card program.

A&F-011:  Off Campus Involvement by University Personnel - purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for the use of university staff to support off-campus activities.

A&F-012:  Procurement of Goods, Services, Supplies & Construction - policy outlines and provides guidance for the procurement of goods, services and construction in compliance with regulatory requirements.

A&F-013:  Right to Know Policy - Pennsylvania residents may request public records from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania under the Right-to-Know Law, as amended, 65 P.S., sections 66.1 - 66.9.

A&F-021:  University Asset Responsibility - policy outlines procedures and other guidelines to ensure the safeguarding of university assets.

A&F-025:  Criminal Background Investigations - This policy is implemented in compliance with Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors Police 2009-1 to ensure a consistent level of Criminal Background Investigations for appointees for all positions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Nothing herein is intended to contradict or lessen compliance with applicable federal and state laws or regulations.

A&F-028:  Stairway and Corridor Fire Safety Policy - Day-to-day foot traffic requires consistent, unimpeded corridor space to facilitate smooth flow through buildings. Stairways and corridors are intended for this, and to provide a safe and adequate means by which large numbers of occupants may relocate, or quickly exit the building during an emergency. Corridors and other means of egress must be free of all obstructions or other hazards.

A&F-030:  Possession of Deadly or Offensive Weapons on Kutztown University Campus - The purpose of this policy is to address and regulate the possession of deadly and/or offensive weapons on the campus of Kutztown University.

STU-011:  Gates and Barriers - a policy and procedure to minimize access to areas secured by fence and/or gates or other such barriers intended to reduce risk of personal injury, trespassing or other activity (i.e. theft of equipment or materials).

STU-016:  Motor Vehicle Regulations - parking and operation of vehicles on campus is a privilege granted by the university to all individuals who will observe regulations for their proper and safe use. Local regulations are formulated by the University Traffic Bureau, which also functions as an appellate body.

 

Academic & Student Affairs

STU-001:  Alcohol Policy - prohibit the use and/or sale of alcoholic beverages, except under listed circumstances, at Kutztown University.

STU-031:  On Campus Sales, Fund Raising and Solicitation Policy (UNDER REVIEW) - The On-Campus Sales, Fundraising, and Solicitation Committee shall consist of the Director for Student Involvement, Director of Housing and Residence Life, Director of Public Safety and Police Services, Director of Athletics, the Secretary in Student Involvement and a student appointed by the Student Government Board, or their designees.

 

Equity and Compliance

DIV-001:  Accessible Meetings, Events, Programs - meetings, events, programs and activities that are open to the public or the Kutztown University campus community must be held in an accessible location.

DIV-003:  Service Animal Policy/Procedure - The following information is provided to help define the role and place of animals at Kutztown University especially in promoting the safety, dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.

DIV-007:  Sexual Harassment Policy - Kutztown University is committed to creating an environment free of sexual harassment for all its employees and students.

DIV-008:  Anti-Discrimination Policy and Procedures - Kutztown University is committed to creating an environment free of unlawful discrimination for all its employees and students. Accordingly, acts of discrimination based on an individual's gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status is prohibited.

DIV-009:  Anti-Harassment Policy and Procedures - Kutztown University is committed to creating an environment free of harassment for all its employees and students. Accordingly, acts of harassment based on an individual's gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status is prohibited.

  

General Policies

GEN-001:  Campus Smoking Policy - To establish designated smoking areas to protect the rights of both non-smokers and smokers.

GEN-003:  Weather-Related Schedules - The purpose of this policy is to address the issue of opening and closing the university because of weather-related problems.
