Student Conduct Advisors

The Student Conduct Advisor Program for Students (Non-Title IX)

Need help preparing for a hearing, filing a report, or submitting an appeal request? Don't know anyone who can help advise you?  Contact a Student Conduct Advisor! Please note, SCAs are not trained to act as advisors under the Title IX/Sexual Misconduct grievance process.

    • What is the Student Conduct Advisor Program?
      • An optional program for students to request assistance from volunteer professional staff members who serve as Student Conduct Advisors (SCA).
      • Most SCAs work outside of the Dean of Students Office in order to provide objective consultations for students engaged in the student conduct process.
      • The program is a resource for students going through or involved in the student conduct process and who may want support or have questions about a case, incident, or situation of concern.
      • SCAs can provide students with guidance on how to best prepare for a hearing, submit an incident report, enter an appeal request, or provide consultation on other student conduct processes.
      • SCAs act as a neutral party for the student, have no influence or direct involvement in a given case, and are only involved to the extent the student wishes.
      • Participation in the program is mutually optional for both the students and volunteer SCAs.

    • What a Student Conduct Advisor can't do?
      • Prepare case presentations, appeal statements or other documents for students.
      • Influence an outcome or mediate a resolution to the incident.
      • Help students find "loopholes" in the student conduct process.
      • Gain access to student's records without their consent
    • Who is a Student Conduct Advisor on campus?

Advocates are volunteers who give of their time to help students. Volunteers are not mandated or required to be Student Conduct Advisors nor are students required to utilize this program.
