KU College of Business update from President Hawkinson

Feb. 8, 2017

Dear KU Campus Community,

I would like to make the campus community aware that Dr. Martha Geaney, dean of the College of Business, has announced her resignation from Kutztown University.  Our provost, Dr. Anne Zayaitz, and I would like to share our plans for the leadership of the College of Business as a result of the now-vacant dean's position.

First, I would like to thank Dr. Geaney for everything she did for the university over the past four years as the college's dean and associate dean.  Her leadership was instrumental in the final stages of achieving our AACSB accreditation, as well as many other initiatives.  I wish her the best of luck in all of her future endeavors.

Effective immediately, Dr. Ernest "Gil" Clary will serve as the interim dean of the College of Business.  Many of you know the excellent service Gil provides as KU's assistant provost for faculty and academic administration.  His extensive experience in higher education will provide tremendous stability for the college.

Dr. Carole Wells, vice provost and dean of Graduate Studies, will chair a national search to identify a permanent dean.  Dr. Clary, Dr. Zayaitz and I plan to meet with the college faculty as soon as possible to discuss the transition.

We look forward to working with everyone to ensure the continued excellence the College of Business brings to our institution.  The full media release is here.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson
President
