Programs of Distinction

Visual and Performing Arts

These include undergraduate programs in Communication Design, Crafts and Studio Art, as well as Music, Music Education, and Art Education.  Also included are masters level graduate programs in Art Education and Communication Design.  All of these programs are accredited (NASM, NASAD, and NCATE) and have national reputations.  In addition, Kutztown University is geographically located within easy reach of the major world art centers of New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.  This allows students and faculty to utilize the institutional and professional resources of these cities.  The visual and performing arts programs at Kutztown occupy newly renovated and expanded state of the art facilities.  Student retention for these programs is the highest at the university, averaging approximately 85 percent.
