Dr. Michelle Vaughn earned a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Auburn University. Prior to arriving at Kutztown University, she was a project manager of an NSF AGEP-T grant and an international and nationally recognized athlete. She is an energetic researcher and educator who is interested in a student centered learning environment that promotes exploration and collaboration among learners. Her main research is using the flipped instructional design through the integration of video technology to enhance the quality of Kinesiology and pedagogy in higher education. Throughout her graduate studies, Dr. Vaughn conducted and presented studies focused on physical education and health, pedagogy, organizational & academic socialization, faculty development, teacher preparation, service learning, diversity recruitment and retention strategies. Furthermore, she uses her research experience and knowledge acquired to serve as a reviewer for SHAPE America.

Outside of the academic realm, Dr. Vaughn enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid fan of track and field, football, soccer and cricket.
