RESEARCH AWARD RECIPIENT                                                                            AT THE 2018 PA SPORT BUSINESS CONFERENCE

April 19 & 20, 2018                                                                                                                                Courtney Chinworth, a senior Sport Management major, was awarded the Student Research Award at the 2018 Pennsylvania Sport Business Conference. Since 2016, Courtney conducted five different marketing research projects under the guidance of Dr. Yongjae Kim, Department of Sport Management and Leadership Studies. Courtney presented her research findings at regional, state, and national conferences. Her work has been recognized at annual meetings with practitioners in the sport industry.

2018 PA SPORT BUSINESS CONFERENCE

This year's Conference was held at IUP on April 19-20, 2018. 

The following KU students participated in the case competition: Sandra Gee, Mark Harron, Zach Jimison, Angela Castellari, Thomas Klinger, Tiffany Sobiech, Brandon McDonnaugh.

Pocono Raceway College Tour 2018

Pocono Raceway College Tour SPT 160 class pictured with Driver Todd Kutztown University was one of four colleges in the competition for the Pocono Raceway College Tour.

The students participated in a competition with a focus on marketing, research and analysis, and event planning.  Kutztown University has won the two previous Pocono Raceway College Tour competitions.

Health & Wellness Expo

Students representing The Department of Sport Management and Leadership Studies conducted physical assessments at the 2017 Health & Wellness Expo on Thursday October 26, 2017 in the Student Rec Center. Assessments included the use of the Tanita Scale, the "Sit N Reach" test, the "Hand Dynamometer", and Body Mass Index (BMA). Attendees were also asked to participate in the "maximal push-up assessment".

Deputy Commissioner of the Big East Conference and COO, Vince Nicastro, met with K.U. Sport Management Majors to talk about his career path in college athletics and discuss current issues in college athletics on October 26, 2017.
